Hawthorne, Brown and Poe Essay
The medieval component of the American Romantic Period of 1800-1860 produced several eery and gothic works by apt literary minds. Three such pieces, The tell-tale heart, The Birthmark, and Wieland were create verbally by Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Charles Brockden Brown. These works of fiction dig out into the minds of seemingly unstable protagonists, and in so doing participated in the general Romantic motif of reacting against reason. They also delve into the psychological mysteries of the mind an d demonstrate the moral weaknesses of humans. Finally, they attempt to bring humans into such inter-group communication with the self so that elevation and rise of the mind and spirit can surveil about through a original knowledge of the self and its functions.
